HEREFORDSHIRE’S GP surgeries have been ranked from best to worst in the annual GP patient satisfaction survey.

GP surgeries across Herefordshire were rated by patients in the annual NHS survey.

Patients were asked a range of questions about how satisfied they were with the whole process, from booking their appointment to their overall experience.

And while some surgeries scored highly, others fell short in the eyes of patients.

Easy to get through to on the phone?

Fownhope Medical Centre came out on top with 93 per cent of patients agreeing it was easy to get through to the surgery by phone.

The Mortimer Medical Practice in Kingsland and Kingstone Surgery came in joint second place, both with a score of 92 per cent, and Cradley Surgery scored 90 per cent.

At the other end of the scale, just 24 per cent of Hereford Medical Group’s patients said it was easy to get through to the surgery by phone, followed by Wargrave House, Hereford, at 35 per cent, Ledbury Health Partnership at 36 per cent, Belmont Medical Centre at 60 per cent, and Ryeland Surgery, Leominster, at 64 per cent.

Get to see preferred GP regularly?

Patients commented on whether or not they get to see their preferred GP regularly, with Kingstone Surgery coming up on top. 67 per cent of patients surveyed said they get to see their preferred GP often.

Next up was Cradley Surgery with 65 per cent, Weobley and Staunton-on-Wye Surgeries with 60 per cent, and the Mortimer Medical Practice with 57 per cent.

Hereford Medical Group again came in last place with eight per cent, followed by Ledbury Health Partnership with 16 per cent, and Pendeen Surgery, Ross-on-Wye, and Golden Valley Practice with 27 per cent each.

Helpful receptionists?

Weobley and Staunton-on-Wye were at the top of the chart for helpful receptionists, with 99 per cent saying they were satisfied.

In second place was Cradley Surgery with a score of 98 per cent.

Close behind in joint third were Much Birch Surgery and Kingstone Surgery, with 97 per cent.

At the bottom of the scale was Hereford Medical Group again, with just 69 per cent saying they were satisfied.

Also around the least helpful end of the spectrum were Ledbury Health Partnership with 72 per cent, Wargrave House with 78 per cent, and Golden Valley Practice with 79 per cent.

Cradley Surgery took the top spot for the best overall patient experience, with a score of 95 per cent.

It was followed by Fownhope Medical Centre and Kington Medical Practice, each with 93 per cent, and the Kingstone Surgery with 91 per cent.

In last place was Hereford Medical Group, with 53 per cent, followed by Wargrave House with 65 per cent, Ledbury Health Partnership with 67 per cent, Golden Valley Practice with  73 per cent and Belmont Medical Centre with 81 per cent.
