It’s national burger day today on August 22, and since we are clearly a county home to burger lovers, with several well-established and much-loved burger restaurants, it seems only right to put these to the test- how have they been rated by customers on Google reviews.

In no particular order, here’s the restaurants who took the top spots:

The Beefy Boys

Unsurprisingly, The Beefy Boys, the cult-favourite Hereford restaurant took a top spot on Google Reviews, gaining a trusted rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, with over 2900 reviewers leaving their opinions on the “Meat Boutique”.

One reviewer wrote: “Beefy Boys in Hereford was incredible. The staff were so happy to serve us and the food was delicious.

"Adults and kids in the family agreed that this was one of, if not THE, very best burgers we've eaten.

"From grandparents to young kids, we all had a fantastic evening, thanks to Max, Bea, Taso and the chefs!”

What's on the menu: From the classic Bacon Boy with American cheese, double bacon and bacon jam, or for a more speciality burger like the chilli cheese boy, which includes beef chilli, nacho cheese sauce, and jalapenos, there's something for each burger lover at this restaurant.

The Burger Shop

Another Hereford classic, the Burger Shop, featured on the top Google reviews, just slightly behind with a 4.6 rating out of 5 stars. Over 1000 reviewers descended on Google to speak about their visit to the Aubrey Street restaurant.

One reviewer wrote: “Me and my family absolutely adore this place!

"We come here with every opportunity and are constantly pleased and surprised with the quality of service and food compared to many other places we’ve been to.

“The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, a gorgeously designed place and I find good music is always playing.

"With such lovely staff who are always enthusiastic and kind, you are promised to feel welcome every time.”

What's on the menu: Customers can choose from several different burgers at the restaurant, including a buttermilk chick burger, with roasted garlic mayo and house pickles or blue cheese lovers will be delighted to see the Worcester Blue, containing grass-fed beef patties and delicious Worcestershire blue cheese.

The Patty Parlour

The Patty Parlour, based in Bewell Street in the city centre, has described itself as “Smashing the Patty game, one burger at a time”. With a catchphrase like that it’s clear that the team are burger experts and are clearly dedicated to their craft. Gaining a staggering five stars, with 31 reviews, it’s clearly popular with its customers.

One Google reviewer wrote: “Had the big boy platter for 3 with some friends, and all I can say is we left very full and extremely satisfied!

"The burger was juicy and full of flavour, the brisket chips were amazing and the tacos and hash browns made the perfect sides.

"Can’t wait to eat from here again!”

What's on the menu: Meat lovers will be delighted to see the Brisket Bad Boy on the menu, with Herefordshire beef smashed patties, double American cheese, pickles, pulled beef brisket topped with crispy fried onions and garlic aioli, how could you resist? For those wanting a chicken burger,  the Hot Honey burger could be the one- with crispy chicken thigh glazed in hot honey with house ranch and pickles.
