BE careful what you wish for!
Those who voted Green in the general election and removed our Conservative MP have helped to install a Labour Government, which is currently considering a pay per mile road tax scheme.
This is doubly damaging to those who live in rural areas.
Firstly, as employment and services of all kinds are more remote, the distance that rural dwellers have to drive are much greater.
Secondly, with the absence or scarcity of public transport, there is no option but to use private cars.
Already, the rural dwellers are paying their taxes towards the street lighting, CCTV protection, easy access to libraries and sports centres and many other services enjoyed by urban dwellers.
Now the Labour Government proposes to inequitably tax the rural motorists who have no choice but to use their private cars as the only means of transport.

I am sure that this was not what the Green supporters of Herefordshire voted for, but that is what they have helped to deliver.
