Smoothies, fresh fruit bowls, and chocolate oats, what’s not to love? When the opportunity arose to try Hereford’s Rose and Ramble, we couldn’t resist.

The unique food and drink stall, Rose and Ramble, which is based in the city’s Old Market offers a mouth-watering selection of acai bowls, superfood smoothies, and “healthy fast food”.

My colleague Bridie and I were desperate to try their smoothies. After seeing the glowing reviews on Google and Deliveroo, we couldn’t wait to sample some of their menu.

Bridie went to pick out our orders, and with the surrounding seating area jam-packed full of happy customers enjoying their food and drinks, we felt we were in safe hands!

I settled on the ‘Energiser’ which is made with double espresso, cacao powder, salted caramel protein, almond milk, banana, and chocolate.

This felt like the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up, combining my love of a strong coffee, with a healthier touch of some raw, natural ingredients.

The combination of rich, chocolatey espresso and fresh banana and oat milk worked perfectly, with a hint of salted caramel it felt like a much-needed sweet treat, but packed full of healthier ingredients than your average sweet drink.

Bridie chose the ‘peach glow’ smoothie, which is made with peach collagen powder, pineapple, mango, banana, oat milk and green yoghurt.

The £5.50 price tag of the peach-flavoured smoothie is definitely worth it, as the drink tastes incredibly fresh and high-quality.

As well as being healthy, with the benefits of collagen including relieving joint pain and improving skin health, the drink is delicious.

“The combination of creamy oat milk and yoghurt with the tart peach and pineapple flavours works perfectly.

“Next time I visit Rose & Ramble, I will definitely try an acai bowl, as they looked yummy as well as being a nourishing source of fruit and nuts,” she said.

This year the business has been going from strength to strength, recently making an exciting announcement on their social media, revealing they will be opening a café in Widemarsh Street in October.

A post on their Instagram said: “We are super excited to transform this space and take you along for the journey.

“A huge thank you to all of our friends, family & loyal customers for your continued support & amazing feedback along the way,

“We couldn’t have done it without you”.

Rose & Ramble was born after the owners were inspired by their travels, discovering “exotic tropical flavours”, and desperately wanting to introduce their new culinary finds to the city.

“We aspire to create more than just a menu, we aim to have a thriving wellness community that has a holistic approach to health and well-being.

“We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone, regardless of their dietary preferences or lifestyle choices, feels welcome and encouraged on their wellness journey.

“We believe that life is an adventure best enjoyed with delicious food that nourishes the body and soul,” they said.

The stall currently offers an impressive nine different varieties of acai bowls. From a fruity and refreshing ‘Mango sunrise’, packed full of granola, pineapple, goji berries, and several other natural ingredients, to the ‘Biscoff one’ featuring a rich Biscoff spread combined with bee pollen, banana, cacao nibs, and Biscoff drizzle. All the bowls, which start at £9.50, have an acai berry base.

For those looking for a quick nutritious breakfast on the go, the overnight oats on offer would certainly fit this criteria, with four different bowls available, all packed with gluten free oats, and a range of both fruity and chocolatey goodness.
