Many beloved Herefordshire shops have been lost over the years, from Chadds on Commercial Street to big brand names such as Wilko in Maylords Orchards, the city has seen many shops shut up for the final time.
One of these fondly remembered shops was Rockfield, which was a popular DIY store in Station Approach, Hereford.
Almost a year after the Wolverson family announced that 50 years of Rockfield history would come to an end, a multi-million sale to Herefordshire Council was subsequently agreed.
In July 2012, Herefordshire Council confirmed it had acquired the site, which is where the Link Road between Edgar Street and Commercial Road is now.
Planning permission was granted in 2010, and the site was then used as a car park before work started on new student accommodation in 2019.
Recollections of Rockfield have been brought up several times in the We Grew Up in Hereford Facebook group, with many previous customers flocking to the comments to share their memories.

Many customers also commented on the upstairs café the store boasted, with many recounting their trips upstairs after shopping in the store.
Francesca Wojtczak said: "Best store and good café. Look at it now. Gutted when it closed".
Maggie Lloyd, remembering fond family memories said: "Mum and I ate there frequently, friendly service, good food and great coleslaw!"
