A Herefordshire cricket club plans to turn an old grounds storeroom into a club bar.
Based southeast of Hereford, Fownhope Strollers Cricket Club has two sides playing in the cross-border Marches League.
“We have converted our old groundworker’s storeroom into a bar where we wish to sell alcohol,” its application for a drinks licence says.

The club undertakes to ensure a committee member is present on the premises at all times, will keep doors and windows closed when the bar is in use, will prohibit children from entering, and will request photographic identification to control underage drinking.
Comments on its licensing application can be made to Herefordshire Council by September 27.
The club was formed 60 years ago this year “by a group of Christian gentlemen”, according to its website.
