A SEARCH has been launched after a dog attack in a Herefordshire village.
Two dogs were seen entering a field near to Warren Lane in Lea, near Ross-on-Wye, at around 6.45pm on August 30, said Ross-on-Wye police community support officer Kirsten Kysow.
The dogs, which were not believed to be accompanied by an owner, attacked a ewe in the field, PCSO Kysow said.
One of the dogs is described as being ginger-coloured, of a medium size, and long-legged. No description was given for the second dog.
The dogs were then seen heading towards Lea.

The National Sheep Association says it is a criminal offence to allow a dog to worry sheep.
"Worrying includes attacking or chasing sheep and, in some circumstances, farmers are legally entitled to shoot dogs if they are endangering their sheep," the NSA said.
The organisation said chasing by dogs can do serious damage, even if the dog does not catch the sheep, with stress causing sheep to die and pregnant ewes to miscarry.
