A FATHER-OF-FIVE who was injured in a Hereford crash has said he is "heartbroken" about not being able to ride a motorbike again.
Dan Tyler suffered injuries in a crash involving a lorry on Gatehouse Road, which links the A49 and Rotherwas in Hereford.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Monday afternoon (September 2), with the air ambulance called and Mr Tyler taken to hospital.
His partner Rosie Pritchard has set up a GoFundMe page to help support their family, with the couple asking for help feeding their children and paying their bills while he is in hospital.
Miss Pritchard said: "My partner has been critically injured in a motorcycle accident. He has been hospitalised and will be bed-bound for months. The heartbreak of not being able to bike again is a burden that will weigh heavy upon him.
"He is the most amazing, hard-working guy. He works every hour given to provide for our family, supporting me and the kids in every way. He would move heaven and earth to help anyone out and is the kindest soul there is. This accident is not only keeping him from us but is crippling our family.
"All I ask is if you could help us out even the slightest bit just to ease the burden and the stress on our family, we'd be eternally grateful."
The GoFundMe has so far raised over £2,700.
Miss Pritchard said the funds will go towards keeping a roof over the family's heads by paying their bills and for essentials like food. It will also enable the children to visit their dad by contributing to travel expenses to hospital.
She said that any leftover donations will go to the air ambulance charity.
"Without them I'd hate to think what the outcome would have been," Miss Pritchard said.
A statement from West Midlands Ambulance Service after the crash on Monday said: "An ambulance, emergency doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene. On arrival they found a motorcyclist who was wearing full protective gear. He was complaining of potentially serious injuries, but his protective clothing appeared to have done a good job reducing the level of injury. After being assessed at the scene, he was taken to Hereford County Hospital by ambulance."
