A WOMAN has died and a man has been airlifted to hospital after a tragic crash.
Emergency crews were called to the B4204 just over the Herefordshire border at Clifton on Teme at 10.58am on September 17.
Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham joined police at the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered a car that had left the road and come to rest in a field, on its side.
“There were two patients. One of whom, a woman, was found to be in a critical condition. Ambulance staff administered advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The second patient, a man, was cut free from the car by the fire service. He was treated for serious injuries before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.”
A police spokesperson said the crash had involved a blue Mazda carrying two passengers, both in their 70s, which had crashed into a tree.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage from around the time it happened.
