A train company has apologised after continued disruption has affected passengers journeys from Hereford.

West Midlands Railway, which operates services from Hereford through Ledbury and Colwall to Worcester and Birmingham, made the announcement today that services between Hereford and Birmingham would be disrupted again due to a "points failure".

The service was previously disrupted on Monday due to a shortage of crew on the line, and continued to be affected yesterday due to a signalling fault.

In an announcement earlier they said that services would run to Ledbury, where rail replacement would operate, they added that the issue is expected until the end of the day.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Railway told the Hereford Times: “Due to a fault with the signalling system, services are currently unable to run between Hereford and Ledbury.

"Rail replacement transport will be in operation until the issue is resolved.

“We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused. Any passengers delayed by 15 minutes or more as a result of the disruption are entitled to compensation against the cost of their ticket under the Delay Repay scheme.”
