A Hereford care home recently had the honour of hosting an important guest, for a day filled with excitement.
Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford Care Homes in Hereford recently welcomed mayor Kevin Tillett, who was accompanied by his husband, Bob, and their two beloved dogs, Skye the collie and Bryn the lurcher.
During his visit the mayor spent time with staff and residents, whilst the afternoon was made even more delightful with a scrumptious afternoon tea, featuring a delicious homemade cake crafted by the home’s chef.
Nicky, the lifestyle coordinator for the home, was even granted a kind invitation by the mayor for a guided tour of the Town Hall. Nicky also had the opportunity to try on one of the mayoral chains, in a particularly honourable moment.

Home manager, Rebecca Protheroe, was able to share her vision for the future of the homes with the mayor, and express her continued commitment to them.
“We were absolutely delighted to welcome the mayor and his guests into our homes.
“It was a wonderful opportunity for our residents to engage with such a respected figure in our community, and the visit brought so much joy to everyone.
“We are excited about the mayor’s invitation to visit the Town Hall, and I’m looking forward to building on this connection to further enrich the lives of our residents," she said.
The home has said that the visit by the Mayor of Hereford marks a "significant moment" for and reinforces their strong ties to the local community.
