A CLOSED Hereford pub is looking for new landlords, with a short-term lease on offer.

The pub is being advertised by Admiral Taverns and asks for an investment of £7,500 from a new leaseholder.

The company said the Broadleys, in Ross Road, Hereford, boasts a bar, lounge and outdoor area.  The pub has parking for around 12 vehicles.

It also offers three-bed private accommodation for the landlords, described as "spacious" with a lounge, bathroom and kitchen.

Admiral Taverns said the pub was "currently operating as a wet-led community local", but with the car park blocked off and windows boarded up, it does not appear to be open.

The company shared its hopes for the pub's future, saying: "Our vision for the pub is to be the hub of the community but also attract customers from further afield. There is much opportunity for growth and the new licensee should add a regular calendar of events and develop sports teams including pool and darts. The reintroduction of food would be essential."

The investment required from landlords would be a £2,000 deposit, £2,500 in working capital and £3,000 in stock.

There are zero business rates to be paid, funding options for fixtures and fittings may be available, and all drinks categories are tied.

The Broadleys was previously saved in 2019 after plans to demolish it were rejected.

The pub had been threatened with plans to be demolished and replaced it with Co-op store.

But Herefordshire Council planners rejected the scheme, and the building’s owners at the time, Hawthorn Leisure, said they would invest in refurbishing the pub.
