A HEREFORD business has issued an update after it was forced to close by flooding on Friday.

Holmer Park Health Club and Spa in Holmer, Hereford, had previously announced that it would be closed through the weekend and anticipated reopening on Monday (September 23) after flooding chaos hit the county.

The business had closed early on Friday (September 20) as severe thunderstorms brought flooding to the county, with the Holmer area of Hereford among the areas particularly badly hit.

Holmer Park was one of a number of businesses affected by the weather, with Autosport Models and Collectables, in Perseverance Road in the Holmer area of the city, saying the flooding meant it would also be closed on September 21, while its Batman Day event will be postponed to next Saturday.

Nearby Halo Hereford Leisure Centre was also affected, with a number of activities closed for the day as a result of the flooding.

The leisure centre's JumpInGym, indoor soft play and the sports hall remain closed today, September 22, but all other activities are available as normal.

But now Holmer Park has confirmed that it is reopening earlier than expected, and will be welcoming guests today (September 22).

In an update shared online, the business said it would be open from 7am on Sunday.

"Thanks to the fantastic efforts of O'Dowd Electrical and PW Badham plus our amazing team members who have stepped in to help we have managed to get everything tested and safe to reopen long before we thought possible," a spokesperson said in a post shared online.
