A HEREFORD car park is largely underwater today (September 23) after flooding hit the city.

Floods have been causing chaos around Herefordshire since Friday (September 20), as heavy thunderstorms arrived in the city and towns including Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury.

Merton Meadow car park in the city centre is one of the areas that has been badly hit today, with a large amount of parking spaces underwater.

This comes after it was revealed that up to £800,000 is about to be spent simply to work up a plan to prevent flooding in Merton Meadows, in readiness for building homes on it.
