(Image: History Boys production) Malvern Theatres will be welcoming the 20th anniversary production of Alan Bennett’s modern classic, The History Boys, from October 15 to October 19 as part of a national tour.

The production will follow eight unruly teenagers as they burst into adulthood, as they receive the best grades in their school, and they begin to set their sights on some of the most famous academic institutions in the world- Oxford and Cambridge.

But their teachers can’t agree how best to tutor them. There’s Hector - the maverick English teacher who believes in culture for its own sake; Irwin - the shrewd supply teacher full of soundbites; Felix - the headmaster obsessed with league tables and Mrs Lintott - the History teacher who thinks her colleagues are all fools.

The History Boys is the winner of over 30 major international awards, with the original production at the National Theatre being opened in 2004.

The cast will include Simon Rouse as Hector, Milo Twomey as Headmaster, Gillian Bevan as Mrs. Lintott and Bill Milner as Irwin, and will have many up and coming actors in the ensemble.

(Image: Herefordshire Young Farmers) Herefordshire Young Farmers will be celebrating the end of their 80th year of activities, and will be marking the occasion with a big event at Hereford Cathedral on October 27.

Members of the Young Farmers community past and present will celebrate their achievements from the past 80 years with a parade through Hereford’s High Town on Sunday 27 October gathering at the Hereford Bull Statue just before 2pm. They will then progress down Broad Street before joining supporters from across Herefordshire for a service led by the Dean of Hereford Sarah Brown at 2.30pm.

The Cathedral service aims to celebrate everything that Young Farmers has meant to the community over the years with key participants taking part in performing speech, songs and poetry.

Following the service, attendees will be able to view the display of eight tractors (one from every decade) outside the large West doors of the Cathedral, before moving to Hereford Town Hall for tea and cake.

The organisers would love to get as many people with a connection to Young Farmers along to this celebration event. For more information and to confirm attendance please email the YFC office countyadmin@hfyfc.org.uk

Comedian Joe Pasquale at The Courtyard

The previous I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner, Joe Pasquale, will be joining expectant guests at The Courtyard on November 1, with his latest show: “The New Normal, 40 Years Of Cack... Continued!”.

Joe Pasquale has been “showing off on stage for over 40 years” and this time, he’s bringing his "favourite things for another airing to show that things have never been normal".

The comedian says that if you’ve ever had questions such as: can a vegetarian get a job as a Beefeater? If beauty is relative, why are all my relatives ugly? If an Eskimo has a house-warming party, will his igloo melt? Why is it that dead people get to ride in such posh cars? Then this show will be the one for you.

The king of the jungle's evening show will also feature a question and answer section, where keen fans of Mr Pasquale can get involved.
