A CELEBRITY chef will be making an appearance in Hereford today, with locals invited to head along.

The popular cookbook author and TV presenter Rick Stein, a regular on screens across the country, will be visiting Hereford Church Street's Rossiter bookshop on September 26 at 12.30pm.

Mr Stein will be appearing for a signing of his recently published book, Food Stories, which promises to be a celebration of British cuisine, with over 100 recipes from "around the British Isles".

Not only will Food Stories be available in print, but Mr Stein will also be taking it to our screens, launching a new TV series in partnership with BBC Two. This latest venture joins his long-standing commitment to TV, with over 30 programmes, including 12 cookery series', under his belt.

The visit is just one being made by a number of celebrities in Hereford over the next few weeks.

TV presenter Kate Humble, known for her work on programmes including BBC Countryfile and Springwatch, will be greeting fans at Hereford Town Hall on October 16, to mark the release of her new book, Homemade.

The presenter lives relatively locally, in the Wye Valley.

And Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud, who owns a farmhouse near Ledbury, will be appearing at the Town Hall on October 29, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show and to showcase the book to commemorate it.

Fans are invited to join McCloud at the event, which will celebrate the years of hard work and passion that has gone into the show, and look back on "iconic" and "memorable" Grand Designs projects.

Meanwhile a former Hereford student is currently starring and wowing audiences on an immensely popular BBC TV show.

Chris McCausland, who attended Hereford's Royal National College for the Blind, is taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2024.

The former Hereford student pulled off an impressive performance with dance partner Dianne Buswell last Saturday, and will be back to dance again this Saturday, September 28.
