THANK you for your report on refugees who have settled in Herefordshire (Hereford’s welcome set us up for successful new lives, September 19).
It is good to read positive stories on how these people have become assets to our community.

On a totally different topic, I find it darkly amusing that Robert Jenrick, the Tory leadership contender, owns a mansion in north Herefordshire built from the profits of the slave trade, though I believe Mr Jenrick has no connection to the Gorges family that refashioned the house into the fine edifice we see today.
