Speaking exclusively to the Hereford Times today, Stein said: "It's really nice to be in Hereford. In fact, I haven't been here since I was at prep school in Malvern and I cycled over via Ledbury to the cathedral.
"It's very nice to be back. I've always thought it's a great city and, indeed, back here today, I realise how great it is."
Stein was at the bookshop in Church Street from 12.30pm today, attracting huge queues of fans determined to meet the star.
Copies of his book are available to buy from Rossiter.
