A Herefordshire bakery has been recognised for its artisan loaves and pastries, being named best in the region.

Peter Cooks Bread, based in Bromyard, has snapped up the title of best bakery in the West Midlands, at the 2024 National Bakery Awards.

The baker is well-known in the county for its artisan loaves, and intriguing pastries. Each loaf is hand-made slowly over two to three days, with the flavour developing naturally. The bakery says that this long fermentation provides you with a hearty, nutritious loaf that is easy to digest.

Owner and head baker, Peter Doughty-Cook, expressed his gratitude for the award, saying it was a "fantastic surprise" to receive the prestigious title.
