FLOOD alerts remain in force today (September 30) for rivers across Herefordshire after heavy rain in the county.

Herefordshire has seen a number of weather warnings issued over the last 10 days, with plenty of rain falling across the county and flash flooding hitting areas including Hereford, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye.

The repeated rainfall has seen river levels rise across the county, with flood alerts in force for four Herefordshire rivers. 

Here are the Environment Agency flood alerts currently in force for Herefordshire:

River Leadon 

River levels are rising at the Wedderburn Bridge river gauge because of recent rainfall, and the risk of flooding remains.

Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river Leadon. Locations that may be affected include Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton. Water may be out of bank at Upleadon Court.

River Arrow

River levels are forecast to rise at the Titley Mill river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall, with flooding of property, roads and farmland expected this morning.

Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads along the river Arrow from Michaelchurch to Brierley. Other areas that may be affected include Kington, Staunton and Eardisland.

River Frome

River levels are forecast to rise at the Yarkhill river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall, with flooding of property, roads and farmland possible.

Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads along the river Frome from Bromyard to Hereford. Other locations that may be affected include Bishops Frome and Yarkhill.

River Lugg

River levels are forecast to rise at the Lugwardine river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall overnight, with flooding of property, roads and farmland possible.

Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford. Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop.
