Last week saw the return of everyone's favourite architectural show - Grand Designs, as Kevin McCloud, who lives in Herefordshire, travels around the UK meeting new ambitious individuals building their dream homes.

Channel 4's Grand Designs marked its 25th anniversary this year, with a special episode airing to look back at some of its most iconic and challenging builds.

In last week's return, couple Zahid and Ferzana hoped to transform an obsolete coastguard station into their dream home.

However, like most Grand Designs builds, things were not easy for the couple, as the East Yorkshire project came with endless tasks.

After ripping the original tower down, the pair discovered they only had permission to renovate and not tear it down, leaving the project on pause.

With original plans to complete the build in 10 months on a budget of £325,000, it took the couple five years to finish their dream home.

Hopefully, things are a little bit easier for this week's pair of Grand Designs hopefuls.

Couple with no experience take on build in Lincolnshire Wolds

In the latest Grand Designs, professional make-up artist Zara and her partner Giuliano originally from Reading want to create a 400-square-metre malthouse-inspired home of their dreams in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The pair have no project manager and Giuliano, who works in tech, hopes to manage the build despite having no building experience.

In true Grand Designs fashion, the pair quickly run into difficulties that force them to get far more involved than they ever anticipated.

In the show's preview, Kevin asks the couple if they have experience, seeing the new manager Giuliano reply: "Not related to construction."

Keeping fans of Grand Designs on the edge of their seats, the preview ends with a coated Kevin walking up to the house and exclaiming "Oh my word. What is that?".

Grand Designs airs on Channel 4 and All 4 Wednesday nights at 9pm.
