A NEW Old Market shop is starting to take shape, with striking signs appearing outside the large unit today (October 2).
New signs have been unveiled on Matalan's new store in the city centre site, with the company's striking logo now centre stage on the outside of the former Debenhams unit.
Matalan confirmed in August that it would be expanding their vast range of stores, and opening a new shop in Hereford. No official opening date for the store has been given as of yet, however, a spokesperson for Hereford Business Improvement District previously said they expected it to open by Christmas.
The fashion retailer giant has been busy, recently advertising jobs for the Hereford branch, which include positions for two team managers, and two retail assistants.
The job adverts, posted on the company's official website, advise that the ideal candidate for the position of team manager will have a multitude of skills, including being able to "drive sales targets" and explore sales opportunities, and being able to lead the "implementation of seasonal layouts and visual guidelines" throughout the store.
For the part-time position of a sales assistant, the company is looking for a candidate who can deliver an "efficient and reliable service to customers". The advert states that weekends and evening shifts will be part of the role.
The British fashion and homeware retailer will be taking over the downstairs retail area of the city centre premises. The top floor is currently occupied by offices for Herefordshire-based online fashion retailer MandM Direct.
