A SPEED limit will be slashed on a busy main road in one Herefordshire town later this month.
The temporary speed restriction, limiting drivers to 30 miles per hour, is set to come into force on the A417 Ledbury Bypass later in October, according to a notice of intention published by Herefordshire Council.

The notice said that the restriction is required to ensure the safety of the workforce and motorists while lanes are restricted, and due to the likelihood of danger to the public while works are being carried out.
The restriction will be in force for approximately four weeks, the notice said, but may remain in force for up to 18 months if necessary.
Drivers circumnavigating or heading through Ledbury have faced a number of delays over the last year, with various housing projects underway around the town.
