A Hereford college has released a statement following a serious incident on a Folly Lane campus today.
A spokesperson for Herefordshire and Ludlow College said that on the advice of the police all three colleges on Folly Lane went into lockdown on Friday afternoon as a precaution.
"We would like to thank all staff and students who responded calmly and swiftly.
"We worked with the local authorities and were informed it was safe for students and staff to leave at approximately 4 o’clock.
"The incident has now been fully resolved and all 3 colleges will be open as usual next week."
West Mercia Police confirmed earlier that a man has been arrested this afternoon (4 October) following a report of him carrying a bow and arrow at Herefordshire and Ludlow College.
"We believe this to be an isolated incident, and officers will remain in the area to offer reassurance to students, staff and the community," they said.
