A FIRE broke out on a Herefordshire farm, with crews fighting to tackle the blaze.
Crews from Hereford and Fownhope fire stations and the water carrier from Leominster were called at 6.54 pm on October 5 to a large agricultural vehicle fire in Kings Pyon.
A blaze that had broken out in a combine harvester had spread to around 50m by 50m of standing crops in the Herefordshire village, with crews working to tackle the source of the fire.
The fire service used beaters and backpacks to extinguish the blaze, along with using a thermal imaging camera to locate hotspots on the combine harvester, with the help of a triple extension ladder and dampened down using a fogging lance, augmented by an off-road bowser.

A spokesperson for the service added that the perimeter of the crop was dampened down using a fogging lance and the off-road vehicle.
Whilst the incident was ongoing, the road from the A4110 to Kings Pyon Cross was blocked.
There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required. The incident was marked as closed by 9.47pm.
