MAJOR roadworks are expected to be completed next month in one Herefordshire town.
Herefordshire Council said good progress is being made on improvements to the roads and pavements in Leominster town centre, with work on track to be completed at the end of November.
The works in High Street, Iron Cross, Victoria Street, Corn Street and Corn Square include installing new surfacing, improved paving, wider pavements and raised tables at the major junctions to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians.

Work on the High Street and Victoria Street is almost finished, although the roads will not open to traffic until November to ensure continued safe working, a Herefordshire Council spokesperson said.
The improvements at Iron Cross and the junction of High Street and Corn Street will start soon. The road will be closed at the Iron Cross South Street and West Street junction from October 14 until November 4, Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Diversions will be in place.
Corn Street is due to reopen mid-November, while work to refurbish the paving and resurface the road and parking area in Corn Square is due to be completed at the end of November.

Visitors to the town can enjoy two hours free parking in Etnam Street Car Park while the improvement work takes place.
Herefordshire councillor Philip Price the works had got off to a "slower start than we would have liked", but that good progress is now being made.
"The enhancements will help breathe new life into the historic High Street and Corn Square in time for Christmas shopping in December," he said.
“This major investment in Leominster town centre will contribute towards restoring the distinctive character of Leominster, enhancing the town for visitors and retailers and helping to boost trade.”
A drop-in event will be taking place at Grange Court from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on October 22, where local businesses and residents can see the refurbishment plans and ask questions.
