An Environment Agency alert for the Leadon catchment says: "River levels are rising at the Wedderburn Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river Leadon. Locations that may be affected include Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton. Flooding of properties is not forecast.
"Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high in the coming days. Please plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers.
"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our staff are liaising with emergency services and local authorities."
The Met Office forecast for Herefordshire predicts heavy showers for the rest of this evening, but a drier day tomorrow (October 9).
