A man has been arrested after a serious assault in a Hereford street.
West Mercia police have said they remain at the scene on Moorfield Street after a man was seriously assaulted today.
Police were called to a property on the residential street at 4.25 pm today (9 October) to reports that two men had sustained knife injuries.
One of the men, aged 42, has sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries and has been airlifted to hospital.
Another man, aged 49, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Detective Inspector Jordan Baker said “ We understand that communities may feel concerned but we believe this to be an isolated incident.
"Officers including firearms officers swiftly attended the scene and a man has been arrested. Enquiries are ongoing and police are in attendance in the area.”
The street was cordoned off by officers today, with a heavy police presence in the area. Several officers and police vehicles could be seen on the street for some time.
