A THIEF has tried to steal meat again just three months after she was caught taking beef from a Hereford supermarket.
Megan Haynes entered a guilty plea to one count of attempted theft from a shop when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford last month.
The court heard from prosecutor Thomas Wickstead that the 34-year-old had tried to steal meat products worth £151 from Sainsbury's in Hereford on June 8.
She had previously committed two counts of theft from a shop in March, when she stole a hair trimmer tool worth £89.99 from Boots and a haul of beef and baby formula worth £65.59 from Tesco.
Magistrates let her off after her last offences, handing her a nine-month conditional discharge. She was told that she would not be punished for the thefts if she did not re-offend within nine months.
However, just three months later, she broke the conditions of her discharge and attempted to steal meat from the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Hereford.
As a result, she has been sentenced for both the latest offence, as well as answering to justice for her two other recent crimes.

This involves attending up to 40 days of rehabilitation activity appointments.
She must also pay a £50 fine and prosecution costs of £85.
