Over a THOUSAND crimes were reported to police in Herefordshire in August, our monthly crime map can reveal.

Using data which is provided by data.police.uk, we have created an interactive monthly crime map for August 2024, which is the most recent set of data to be published.

The interactive map shows the location, type of offence, and the status of the current investigation, and users can see the colour-coded offences dotted around the county.

Readers can use our interactive map to see the specific streets and areas in the county where the offences occurred, or even check their own streets to see if crimes have been recorded there.

The data shows that violent and sexual offences were the most reported in the county, with 422 recorded in August. This statistic has risen, with 414 offences of the same nature reported in the month of June.

Reports of antisocial behaviour in the county were also on the rise, with 192 offences recorded by West Mercia Police in August, in comparison to 187 in July.

The third most frequently reported offence in Herefordshire was shoplifting, with 102 offences reported to the force, which had risen from 68 offences in July.

Other crimes that saw an increase in recorded offences included; public order offences, arson, burglary, and possession of weapons.

The least reported crimes in the county were robbery, with eight offences recorded, and bicycle theft and theft from a person, each with seven offences recorded.
