A FAMED TV presenter and author's visit to Hereford city centre has been CANCELLED.

Kate Humble, who is best known for her appearances presenting the popular BBC show, Countryfile, was due to visit Hereford's Town Hall tomorrow (October 16) for a talk and book signing.

Now, local bookshop, Rossiters who are running the event, have made the hard decision to cancel the evening after not enough tickets were sold, and it was not thought to be financially viable.

The author was due to make her appearance to celebrate her newly released book, Homemade, which is a collection of simple and sustainable recipes. The book features inspiring stories from 20 people who make and grow some of the best food we eat. With over 60 recipes from the author's kitchen table, readers can enjoy simple, quick and fuss-free meals.

Disappointed fans who hoped to meet the iconic presenter, may have a chance of bumping into her in the future. Humble lives with her husband and their assortment of animals in a smallholding in the Wye Valley, just across the border in Monmouthshire.

The couple bought an old stone farmhouse with four acres of land in the Wye Valley, where the presenter also founded Humble by Nature, a rural skills centre.

Rossiters, who have a shop in Church Street, as well as in Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Malvern, and Cheltenham, will be bringing another famed TV presenter to the city later month. Kevin McCloud will be joining guests at the Town Hall on October 29, to celebrate 25 years of the popular TV show he has been at the helm of- Grand Designs.
