MONTHS of closures are coming on the A49 in Herefordshire, with roadworks planned throughout the county.

National Highways, which is responsible for the A49 trunk road in Herefordshire, has given notice that it intends to make an order on the road to allow bend and junction improvement works to be carried out.

The order will allow lengths of the road between its junction with the A40, Wilton Road, and the Pippins at Wilton, Ross-on-Wye, and the A465 at Woofferton on the Shropshire border, to be closed.

It will also allow the closure of any layby between the A49 junction with the B4348 at Llandinabo and the A456 at Woofferton.
