TRIBUTES have poured in since the death of a Hereford woman who was just 20 when she fell to her death from a second-floor window.

An inquest into the death of Charlotte Savage, known as Charlotte Holland, was held on October 16, two years after her body was found with traumatic head, chest and spine injuries sustained in the fall.

Coroner Mark Bricknell was unable to conclude if the death was accidental, with police having previously launched and called off a murder investigation. No one was deemed at fault at the inquest, which was held solely to establish the facts of the death, which was on July 17, 2022.

At the inquest, Miss Holland's mother Gaynor Holland said: “She was a very loving, caring, kind person. She left a good mark. She always made friends. If you were down, she would lift your spirits. She was like a young person but with an old head on her shoulders. She was very clever and had a very good photographic memory. We were very close and she would tell me anything.”

Mrs Holland has also previously released a statement through West Mercia Police, which said: “In memory of my beautiful, funny, caring, loving daughter – my precious baby girl Charlotte.

“As a mother I never, ever expected to have to write something so tragic and heart-breaking as this – my heart is in pieces, and I know many of you who knew Charlotte loved her dearly.

“As most of you know by now, my beautiful daughter Charlotte passed away in what I can only describe as completely devastating circumstances.

“The heartache I am enduring at this awful time knows no boundaries. I still cannot and don’t think I ever will accept the loss of my baby girl and best friend."

At the time of Miss Holland's death, the Hereford Times opened an online book of condolences, with many leaving heartfelt tributes.
