I AM a keen motorcycle rider and on Saturday, October 12, I travelled to Stafford via the A-roads (Warning to farmers over ‘deadly’ muddy roads, October 10).
The Herefordshire roads were very muddy in places, including the A49 just off the dual carriageway at Wellington, and not for the first time.

When entering Worcestershire and Staffordshire, there was no mud at all, the journey was just very wet.
Why do Herefordshire farmers not keep the roads clear of mud and yet other counties seem to cope? For two-wheeled and four-wheeled transport it makes it very dangerous. No warning signs either. In my opinion, it is as bad as ice.
I have contacted the police on many occasions, but they do not seem to be interested.
