I AGREE with Christopher Warren Dixon’s opinion of Leominster councillors, who I find largely an insular bunch (Letters, October 10).
The reason the Corn Square and High Street project is taking so long is so obvious. Employees are standing idly around and a lack of supervision is encouraging such tardiness. The Romans would have completed it in a week!

Where is the town council? Where is the head of Herefordshire Council’s highways department?
The people suffering are the wonderful retailers, those who offer a good service and attractive shop window displays in efforts to increase footfall.

Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.
They are such a precious asset, but they are let down by the lethargy that affects every town and county council!
If this project were overseen by private enterprise there would have been targets and penalties incurred if not delivered on time. As it is, businesses in Leominster are suffering due to the Communistic attitudes of local councils. There is no urgency because the element of competition does not exist, so apathy rules!
