A cult-favourite Hereford burger restaurant will be celebrating a special anniversary next month, and will be returning to the event that kickstarted their careers.

November 7 will mark the Beefy Boys' tenth anniversary of winning second place for World's Best Burger at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, and this year, they're planning to return- to take back first place.

The friend's journey to success began ten years ago when the 'Beefy Boys’, aka  Murf, Christian, Dan and Lee, started mucking about in their back gardens with a BBQ.

This led to them entering the Bristol-based BBQ competition, Grillstock, where they won Best Burger and were automatically entered into the World Food Championships, representing the UK against 50 other global teams for the title of World's Best Burger. Against all expectations, the four lads from Hereford came second in the world.

Founding member Murf said that he has spent the last eight weeks grilling, flipping and smashing what he believes to be the winning burger: “The opening round this year is extreme burgers, and by that they mean burgers using extremely luxurious ingredients.

"So, we’ve taken one of our classics and tried to elevate every element, but still keeping it recognisable as a dirty burger, the Boujie Boy.”

Comprising two dry-aged grass-fed beef patties, layered with American cheese, black truffle-infused dirty mayo, bone marrow, miso onions and champagne pickled gherkins, it’s a winner in the making.
