MONTY Don's garden at his Herefordshire home has been hit by flooding, with the TV gardener saying he has never seen it so high.

The Gardeners' World presenter, who films a lot of the BBC programme from his home, Longmeadow, has shared several photos and videos of his enormous garden immersed in water after heavy rainfall in Herefordshire.

He addressed the severity of the flooding, writing on Instagram: "Never seen it so high in the garden in 35 years".

His followers flocked to the comment section to share their concern, with one writing: "I'm so sorry you have had this issue. Hopefully all your plants will recover."

Another wrote: "Herefordshire have been hit badly the last couple of days."

However, Don appeared to see the bright side, describing the floodwater as "beautiful" and sharing videos of his dog enjoying a swim.

"At least the sun was shining," he wrote.

Flooding has hit much of Herefordshire this week, with many roads and schools closed as a result of the deluge.

And it isn't the first time Don has been hit either. Writing on his blog, Don has previously said that non-stop rain in Herefordshire has caused a "terrible mess".

"It has barely stopped raining for the past three months and as I write this the fields as far as the eye can see are underwater as are sections of the garden," he wrote in January.

"Mostly all this rain just means mud, slippery paths and the frustration of not being able to get on with much work in the garden without making a terrible mess.

"This is a wet part of a wet country and there have always been very wet periods in British winters, but it is definitely getting wetter, warmer and more extreme.

"Climate change now means that instead of being something we are observing and monitoring with a detached, almost academic interest, it is really affecting our day-to-day domestic lives."
