A rural Herefordshire primary school has been left with "significant damage" after flood water poured into the building.
Ivington Church of England Primary School, near Leominster, was one of several schools in the county that were forced to shut their doors this week following extensive flooding.
The school announced its closure on Wednesday (October 16) due to the substantial floods, which had affected not only the school but the surrounding area.
Now, the primary school has said it cannot reopen until Tuesday, October 22, due to additional time being needed to ensure the premises are thoroughly cleaned and safe for staff and pupils.
Pictures posted to the school's Facebook page show several classrooms with water damage to the floors, and carpets that have been ripped up.
In the south of the county, Peterchurch Primary School was also affected by the extreme weather conditions, with firefighters pumping out flood water from the school.
The school has confirmed it will reopen on Monday, October 21.
