A MUDSLIDE cut off a cul-de-sac in Herefordshire after the county was hit by flooding.

A spokesperson for Herefordshire Highways said: “Following the recent flooding across Herefordshire, our crews have been working 24/7 from Wednesday evening through to Sunday afternoon, tackling over 250 emergency jobs and reopening as many roads as safely possible to keep the county moving.

(Image: Herefordshire Highways) "One incident was in Orleton, where a mudslide runoff cut off a cul-de-sac. Thanks to the great work of our dedicated teams, we were able to remove the mud and fully clean up the area for the residents.

(Image: Herefordshire Highways) “While most roads are now open, a few still remain closed due to water levels or carriageway damage. 

“Our asset team will be reviewing these areas for necessary repairs and they will re-open when they have passed a full safety inspection.”

The county was under several flood warnings last week with roads closed around the county.
