This is a reader's letter published in the Hereford Times on October 24.
I have sympathy for Herefordshire’s farmers with the weather we have had lately, with the potato, apple, and maize harvest in full swing.

Most do make an effort to clear the mud off the roads, but it is a difficult task. I think it is a bit rich for Herefordshire Council to say it is “working to raise a claim to recover costs” from the farmers (Warning to farmers over ‘deadly’ muddy roads, October 10).

What about all the motorists that have tried to recover costs incurred when their cars have been damaged hitting potholes?
Different when the shoe is on the other foot!
