A BUSY Herefordshire road will close next month for works to telephone lines.

The C1148 at Stoke Edith, which links the A438 Hereford to Ledbury road and the A4103 Hereford to Worcester road, will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, November 19.

Herefordshire Council said it intends to make a temporary road closure order for the busy route, temporarily prohibiting vehicles from travelling from the A438 to Stoke Bridge, Stoke Edith.

The closure is necessary as telecommunications network company Openreach will be carrying out pole testing works and due to the likelihood of danger to the public while these works are being carried out, Herefordshire Council said.

The road is expected to be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on November 19.

A diversion route will be in place for drivers affected by the closure, with traffic to be diverted via the C1148, A4103, A417, and A438 and vice versa
