AN INSTANTLY-recognisable Hereford city centre building that is home to the city centre's McDonald's restaurant is up for sale.

The building has been home to McDonald's since it opened in 1983 at the former Commercial Street Tesco site.

The agents said the majority of the building is let to McDonald's Restaurants Ltd until December 2030, while the building also includes one vacant ground-floor shop, formerly home to JJB Sports. 

The building currently has a rental income of £60,000, with the restaurant arranged over the ground and first floors with ancillary accommodation on the second floor. It has access from both Commercial Street and Union Street, where deliveries are received.

The building is in a prominent position in the city centre, and is near a number of other major retailers including Marks and Spencer, Boots, Sports Direct, and Burger King.
