A SEX offender from Herefordshire was caught with a phone and a laptop that he was not permitted to own.
Hereford Magistrates’ Court heard how Nigel Manville had purchased an internet-enabled mobile phone and laptop without notifying police, which he was required to do by a sexual offences prevention order (SOPO).
Jack Taylor, prosecuting, said Manville, 67, had no reasonable excuse for buying the phone and laptop.
He was caught out in February this year, over five years after the order was put in place by magistrates in Worcester in January 2019.

Manville, from Wellington, admitted one count of breaching an SOPO.
At the hearing earlier this month, magistrates ordered for a pre-sentence report to be prepared ahead of Manville’s sentencing, which is set to take place in Hereford in November.
Details of Manville’s previous conviction that led to the SOPO being put in place were not given in court documents.
