Five Hereford school friends have celebrated over 60 years of friendship by cruising around the south of France.
David Lloyd, Paul Skipworth, Ian Rutherford, John Kendle and John Price all 78 years old, went to school in Hereford during the 1950’s and 60’s and subsequently remained close friends despite eventually living in other cities and countries around the world.
David lives in Australia and Paul spends his time between Australia, Spain and England so whenever they find themselves revisiting Hereford, they're quick to arrange a get together to reminiscence about old times.
This year, the friends decided to celebrate their 60 years of inseparable friendship by embarking on a adventurous cruise, sailing down the Canal Du Midi for eight days.
Mr Lloyd said that despite a few hiccups, including a boat breakdown, a couple of unplanned dips in the canal and some awkward moments going through 18 canal locks, they all remain close friends after their most recent adventure.
Mr Lloyd said that it was amazing experience, and despite eight days and nights together on a small vessel, they remain "as close as ever".
The group have said they hope their friendship will continue for many years to come. They added that while Hereford is not the same city as when they were children, its "still great to come back to visit”.
