A Hereford shopping centre is to have hundreds of thousands spent on it by the council, in a bid to improve the quality of the building.
In a record of decisions document published by Herefordshire council, it was revealed that local firm S.C Joseph has been awarded the contract for the works, with the council expenditure to be up to £201,516.63.
The works to be carried out include refurbishment and damp proofing at the former Shopmobility, in Maylord Orchards Shopping Centre.

The council approved the expenditure of up to £192,755.04 for the works, which includes a contingency of up to £17,523.19.
When discussing any risk with the project, the document stated that by not carrying out the refurbishment and damp proofing works, the former Shopmobility is at risk of incurring further maintenance requirements, and potentially costing the council further money.
It added that there is also a health and safety risk associated with not carrying out these works. A further risk was also identified, adding it is possible that once work begins on-site, further works may be identified that were not previously apparent.
Earlier this year, a contract worth over £87,000 was awarded to fix the leaky roof on the building.
