HALLOWEEN fun has been brought to the county this week, with a local farm opening its doors once again for pumpkin pickers.
New House Farm in Marden was filled with a buzz of families this week, as they descend on the Herefordshire pumpkin patch for Halloween festivities.
In 2021, the family-run farm decided to create a pumpkin patch, and hence, ‘The Pumpkin Patch’ was born. Every year, they plant five acres of Pumpkins and try to offer an experience to all who join them in October on the farm.
Happy local families arrived on the farm this year, and they quickly got their wheelbarrows ready to fill up with as many plump pumpkins as possible. Despite the muddy weather conditions, the families looked to be enjoying their time in the autumnal setting.
Every October, the team create a Halloween spectacular for families to enjoy, including organising a Halloween-themed ‘Scavenger Hunt’ with new monsters and ghouls to find each year. The team encourage all visitors to come pumpkin picking in fancy dress and show off their best costumes.
Visitors are welcomed onto the farm by the trusty staff, with a fleet of wheelbarrows to help lug your pumpkins from the field back to the yard for use.
The team even invites pop-up food and drinks stalls each year, changing each season. In the past, the farm has welcomed the likes of the Beefy Boys, Divine Doughnuts, and Happy Fudge to the patch.
