A NEW Hereford steak restaurant has given a major update ahead of its upcoming opening.
En Steak is due to open soon at unit P2 of Old Market, previously occupied by Wildwood, and has said that news of its soft launch, industry night and official opening will be revealed this week.
En Steak already has a branch in Birmingham, and is owned by the same group as En BBQ across the way in Old Market.

In a recent Facebook post, a spokesperson said: "We can't thank you enough, Herefordians, for your excitement. Your messages, phone calls and support have blown us away, even some of you ringing Birmingham to book a table for Hereford!
"You've made this journey so special for our family-run team, and we're so grateful for all your patience and anticipation.
"The first meat order will be placed this week, the fridges are on and have stock inside, the charcoal ovens are set and our staff training is going well. Plus, the first order of booze is on the way!
"Get ready because an announcement is coming this week with the details on our soft launch, industry night and official opening! We'll also be sharing our Christmas party info as we have already received interest for this! We can't wait to open and share En Steak with you!"
The restaurant plans to serve cuts of Hereford cattle sourced from Herefordshire farms and butchers.
The meats will be "dry-aged and cooked over charcoal and cherry wood, adding a unique smokiness".
