A Herefordshire bridge will remain closed, after a crash damaged its structure.
Hereford Highways announced today (November 1) that the C1120 From A49 To Old School House, Moreton-On-Lugg will remain closed after a crash damaged the bridge.
The crash last night (October 31) led to a man being arrested at the scene and being charged with driving a vehicle while over the legal limit of alcohol.
Now, a spokesperson for the Herefordshire council has said that the bridge remains closed after the grade II listed bridge has been damaged, with the "downstream parapet" being damaged upon impact.
They added that closure barriers have been put in place by the bridge for safety.
Last night, Police officers and fire crews attended the scene, with officers arriving to find one vehicle involved in the crash, and have confirmed that Charlie Tapley, 28, of Grange Drive, Osset, Yorkshire has been charged.
A fire crew was also called to the scene, with a spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service adding that firefighters made the van safe and assisted police with a search of the area.
