STRICTLY Come Dancing's Chris McCausland had a hilarious response as his joke fell flat during tonight's live show (November 2).
Tonight's episode was "icons" themed in a BBC One show first, with McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell dancing a tango to Rock and Roll All Nite.
McCausland, 47, previously lived in Hereford as he attended the Royal National College for the Blind. He is the first ever blind contestant on the show.
The comedian scored 29 points for his tango, receiving two eights from Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beque, a seven from Motsi Mabuse and a six from Craig Revel-Horwood.
Host Tess Daly said: "Listen to that applause! I think Dave Arch [Strictly's orchestra conductor] enjoyed playing that as much as you enjoyed did."
McCausland joked: "Well you know, dancing a tango, I can only imagine someone's got to dance a Fanta now just to balance it out!"
However, the joke didn't receive much of a reaction from the audience, with McCausland quickly firing back: "Yeah, that was funnier in my head, shame this isn't pre-recorded".
The results of tonight's Strictly show will be revealed tomorrow (November 3).

Originally from Liverpool, McCausland lost his eyesight in his early 20s as a result of retinitis pigmentosa, a hereditary condition. This diagnosis prompted a career change from his previous job in web development to become a comedian.
McCausland studied at the Hereford specialist college and even returned in 2022 to mark its 105th anniversary with a show at the Courtyard in Hereford.
He is known to television audiences for his role as Rudi in the CBeebies show Me Too, and regularly appears at comedy venues around the UK, including the Comedy Store.
