CLOSURE dates have been confirmed for works that will last up to five months on the A49 in Herefordshire.
National Highways previously said it is planning to carry out works along various stretches of the A49 between Llandinabo, in the south of the county, and Woofferton, on the Shropshire border.
The organisation, which is responsible for major roads and motorways across the country, said the works would be taking place over a five-month period.
The works will be to carry out safety improvements to bends and junctions along the road, while roadside signs will also be replaced, road markings will be renewed, and new traffic bollards installed.
The A49 will also be resurfaced at Dinmore Hill, National Highways said.
Now National Highways has released further details about the planned closures.
The A49 will be closed between the A4137 and Grafton Lane from November 18 to December 9, and from the A456 at Woofferton to the A4112 at Stockton from December 10 to January 17.
It will then close between the A4112 Stockton and the Leominster Bypass roundabout from January 20 to January 27, and from the A44 Worcester Road roundabout and the A417 at Hope under Dinmore from January 28 to January 31.
The final confirmed closure will take place between the A417 at Hope under Dinmore and A4103 Roman Road from February 3 to March 19.
All of the closures will take place at night, with work taking place from 8pm to 6am.
Access to properties inside the closed areas will be maintained by an escort service provided by on-site traffic management workers.
Diversion routes are in place for all of the closures.
